🌃 Exterior—“NO RAMEN NO LIFE” Glowing in the Susukino Night

Night exterior of Ramen Sora: red facade, bold "NO RAMEN NO LIFE" text, and SAPPORO / CHITOSE / LAS VEGAS listed on the wall (Ramen Sora Norbesa)

A vivid red storefront on the ground floor of the Norbesa building in Susukino. “NO RAMEN NO LIFE” in white on red, with SAPPORO · CHITOSE · LAS VEGAS listed below—three cities where this shop has a presence. Ramen Sora opened in 2008 and became one of Sapporo’s most-loved miso ramen destinations. Then, on January 19, 2024, the original location burned down completely. After two years of operating only at New Chitose Airport, the shop returned to Susukino on March 17, 2026, this time inside Norbesa. The red light feels a little more triumphant than before.

🍜 Entrance—Noodles from Morisumi, Worn Proudly

Black noren curtain with gold "空" (Sora) crest and "RAMEN SORA" lettering. "From Morisumi Noodle Manufacturer" text visible. OPEN sign hanging in the doorway (Ramen Sora)

Ducking under the black noren with its gold crest, you step into a spacious dining room. On the curtain, the text “森住製麺より” (from Morisumi Noodle Manufacturer) is a quiet declaration. Morisumi is one of Hokkaido’s respected noodle makers, and Ramen Sora’s use of their noodles has always been part of the shop’s identity. After the fire, nothing about that commitment changed.

🍺 Sapporo Classic—The Right Beer for the City

A frost-rimmed glass of Sapporo Classic beer with fine foam and golden color (Ramen Sora)

While waiting for the ramen, a glass of Sapporo Classic. This Hokkaido-only draft beer has a clean, slightly malty finish that pairs naturally with the rich miso broth ahead. Ramen Sora’s late-night hours make it ideal as a cap to an evening in Susukino—arrive after the izakayas, have a beer, have the ramen, go home satisfied.

🍜 Miso Ramen—Pork Broth, Yakimiso, Wavy Noodles

Deep bowl of Sapporo miso ramen: thick golden broth, melt-tender chashu pork, soft-boiled egg with amber yolk, menma bamboo shoots, white scallions (Ramen Sora)

The signature miso ramen is built on a Hokkaido pork chintan (clear) broth combined with yakimiso—miso that has been grilled before dissolving into the soup, adding a layer of caramelized depth. The result is rich but not heavy, with a clean finish that keeps you going until the last drop.

The wavy noodles from Morisumi hold the broth well. Toppings include melt-tender pork belly chashu, a soft-boiled egg with an amber, just-set yolk, menma bamboo shoots, and white scallions. Everything is in proportion—nothing dominates, everything contributes. Coming to this bowl for the first time since the revival carries a particular kind of satisfaction.

💡 Practical Tips

  • Late-night option: Open until 3:00am (4:00am Fri–Sat)—ideal as a late-night meal after drinking in Susukino
  • No reservation needed: The shop can get busy, especially since the revival brought fresh attention, but turnover is quick
  • Beer pairing: Draft Sapporo Classic is available—worth ordering before or alongside the ramen
  • Location: 3 minutes from Susukino Station makes it easy to fit into any Sapporo evening
  • Airport option: If you miss it in the city, the New Chitose Airport branch (Domestic Terminal 3F) is a solid backup before departure

Summary

Ramen Sora is back. After the fire took its original home in 2024, the return in 2026 to a larger, more accessible location in Norbesa feels like a statement. The miso ramen—Hokkaido pork broth, yakimiso, wavy noodles, pork belly chashu—is exactly what it was, and maybe a little better for the time spent waiting. Susukino is Sapporo’s nightlife hub, and having this ramen shop open until the early hours of the morning makes it both a destination and a natural end to any evening in the area.
